Wales Archaeology App shortlisted for British Archaeology Award

The four Welsh Archaeological Trusts are delighted to announce that their Archwilio app has been shortlisted for ‘Best Archaeological Innovation’ at the biennial British Archaeology Awards 2014.

With the app, which builds on the success of the Archwilio website you can access information for over 150,000 archaeological sites across Wales, collect new information and record new sites.

The winners of the 2014 British Archaeological Awards will be announced at a ceremony to be held at the British Museum on 14 July, to be compered by Loyd Grossman, Chair of The Heritage Alliance, with Dan Snow, President of the Council for British Archaeology.

The app was developed by the Centre of Excellence in Mobile Applications and Services (CEMAS) at the University of South Wales, working with the four Welsh Archaeological Trusts. The project was supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
